Daka Eyes Historic Argentina Clash as Learning Opportunity for Chipolopolo

Zambian striker Patson Daka has described the upcoming international friendly against world champions Argentina’s national football team as a rare and significant opportunity for both the team and the nation.
The Chipolopolo are set to face Argentina on Tuesday, March 31, in Buenos Aires, in what is expected to be one of Zambia’s biggest international fixtures in recent years.
Speaking shortly after arriving in Lusaka, the Leicester City FC forward said the match goes beyond a routine friendly, highlighting its importance in the team’s development.
“I think it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all of us, not only for the players but also for the nation. It’s not just an ordinary game; we know how important this game is and how much it’s going to help us to develop as a team, as a nation, as people,” Daka said.
He added that the fixture could open doors for Zambian football on the global stage.
“We’re just hoping that this opportunity is going to open many doors, not only for us players but also for the nation at large as well,” he said.
Daka acknowledged the challenge posed by the reigning world champions but insisted the team is determined to give a strong account of itself.
“We know how difficult this game is going to be, but we’re going to do our very best to make sure that we don’t regret anything at the end of the game,” he said.
He stressed the importance of belief and teamwork, noting that the players are focused on learning and competing at the highest level.
“We respect them, but we know that we just have to learn; we have to do our best… we believe in ourselves,” Daka added.
The high-profile encounter is expected to provide Zambia with valuable exposure as the team continues to build for future international competitions.
