FAZ General Secretary Machacha Shepande and NAPSA Stars CEO Charles Chakatazya

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Machacha Shepande and NAPSA Stars Chief Executive Officer Charles Chakatazya are in Cairo, Egypt, where they are attending the prestigious Football Management Executive Programme (FMEP) organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The high-level training, which runs from 15 to 17 September, has drawn more than 30 football leaders from across the continent. The programme is designed to strengthen leadership, governance, and professional standards within African football.

Speaking from Cairo, Shepande described the FMEP as a crucial initiative that will help build capacity in football administration.

“We are privileged as FAZ to be among over 30 football leaders from across the continent invited by CAF to learn about global football best practices. This programme will help us build capacity and continue raising football standards in Zambia,” he said.

He further welcomed CAF’s decision to include Chakatazya, a veteran football administrator, in the training, noting that the programme touches on CAF’s strategic priorities such as women and youth football development, infrastructure growth, governance, and the delivery of world-class competitions.

Shepande added that the opportunity to share experiences with administrators from both CAF and UEFA territories will help Zambian football align with international best practices.

The FMEP reflects CAF’s wider vision of professionalizing football management across Africa and equipping administrators with tools to drive sustainable growth in the sport.
