Lumwana Radiants FC Lodges Formal Appeal Over FAZ Player’s Status Committee Decision
Lumwana Radiants FC has officially appealed the recent ruling by the FAZ Player’s Status Committee concerning their October 25, 2025 fixture against Chirundu United FC, citing “procedural unfairness” in how the decision was reached.
In a statement the club expressed concern that it was never notified of the protest filed against it, nor was it given an opportunity to submit a response before the matter was heard and decided. According to the club, the decisio, reached on November 5, was only communicated to them on December 8, more than a month after the verdict was reportedly passed.
Lumwana Radiants says the delay and lack of communication raise “serious concerns,” especially given the impact of the ruling on the league standings. The club argues that the timing of the announcement, combined with the absence of prior notification, undermines trust in the transparency and fairness of the process.
“We firmly believe that football justice must uphold the principles of fair hearing, transparency, and timely communication,” the club stated. “Proceeding with a case without informing one of the affected parties goes against the spirit of fair play.”
As part of the appeal, Lumwana Radiants is seeking clarification, proof of correspondence, and a proper hearing where all parties involved are notified and heard.
Despite the dispute, the club reaffirmed its commitment to respecting FAZ regulations and football institutions, thanking fans, sponsors, and stakeholders for their continued support during the process.
The appeal now awaits consideration by the relevant FAZ bodies.
