Mutapa Ready for Warriors Test as Power Dynamos Aim to Close Gap at the Top

Power Dynamos head coach Oswald Mutapa says his team is fully prepared for Wednesday’s rescheduled Week 12 encounter against Kabwe Warriors, kicking off at 15:00 hours at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Mutapa highlighted the importance of the fixture, noting that both teams are fighting for critical points in what is shaping up to be a competitive Zambian Premier League campaign.

“It’s a big game when you look at the table,” Mutapa said. “Warriors want to move to 25 points, same as us, and we’re also trying to close the gap on the team above. So getting maximum points is important.”

He expects a tough battle, especially with Warriors coming in determined to bounce back from a recent defeat.

“No game is easy. They are wounded and coming to fight for points,” he said. “But we’re at home, and we need to fight for all three points.”

Mutapa also welcomed the advantage of having a full week of preparation, a rare break in their busy schedule.

“We’ve had an entire week of training, and it’s helped us refresh the squad,” he explained. “We prepared well for Warriors and got the sharpness we needed heading into this match.”

Responding to concerns about the goalkeeping department, the coach expressed full confidence in Josphat Lilanda, who has featured in the last two fixtures.

“It’s not an issue for us,” Mutapa insisted. “We register players so they can help the team, not sit on the bench. This is his time. He’s done well in the last two games. Yes, we conceded, but it wasn’t his fault. He has our confidence and will play again tomorrow.”

Power Dynamos will be aiming to capitalize on home advantage as they look to strengthen their standings near the top of the league table.
