Zambia Women to Face Full-Strength Brazil in FIFA Series 2026
Zambia’s women’s national team will take on a full-strength Brazil after being drawn in a high-profile group for the FIFA Series 2026, FIFA has confirmed.
The Copper Queens have been placed in the Brazil-hosted women’s group alongside the hosts, Canada and Korea Republic, setting up a demanding series of cross-confederation fixtures during the March–April international window.
The FIFA Series 2026 will feature 48 national teams competing in 12 groups of four, following the expansion of the initiative announced in November 2025. The programme includes nine men’s groups and three women’s groups, with all six FIFA confederations represented.
Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire and Thailand will host the women’s competitions, while the men’s series will be staged across Australia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Rwanda and Uzbekistan.
Zambia’s inclusion in the Brazil group guarantees the Copper Queens a rare opportunity to test themselves against some of the world’s elite sides, with matches against South American giants Brazil, Olympic champions Canada and Asian powerhouse Korea Republic.
Match schedules for all FIFA Series 2026 events will be announced in due course.
The FIFA Series is aligned with FIFA’s Strategic Objectives for the Global Game 2023–2027, aimed at giving national teams meaningful international competition across confederations without adding extra fixtures to the global match calendar, while enhancing technical development and global exchange.
