Chilumba Targets Back-to-Back Wins as NAPSA Face Buffaloes

NAPSA Stars head coach Tenant Chilumba has set his sights on securing a second consecutive victory when his side hosts Green Buffaloes in a Week 23 fixture of the MTN Super League at REIZ Arena in Lusaka on Sunday.
NAPSA Stars head into the encounter placed 14th on the table with 23 points, while Buffaloes sit 10th with 27 points. The Zambia Army-sponsored side will be looking to bounce back after suffering a 3–0 defeat to league leaders Power Dynamos in their previous outing.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Chilumba described the upcoming encounter as a tactical battle but expressed confidence in his team’s readiness.
“I think it will be a very tactical game. Looking at the way they have played in the last two or three games, they have not collected maximum points, so it will be a very difficult game,” Chilumba said.
“But we are ready. Everyone is ready. There is too much competition in the team and we have depth,” he added.
NAPSA Stars go into the match buoyed by a recent 1-0 victory over Mines United, which the coach said has boosted morale within the squad.
“The mood is still okay. Everyone is pushing. I think we have a very competitive team now, so we are looking forward to Sunday’s game,” he said.
Chilumba also confirmed that the team has no major injury concerns ahead of the match.
“Simon [Nkhata] is back and Augustine [Mulenga] is also back, so it is a big squad,” he said.
Both sides will be aiming for maximum points as the race for mid-table security intensifies in the Super League.
