Esther Phiri Fight Rescheduled to April 24

The much-anticipated boxing showdown between Zambian legend Esther Phiri and South Africa’s Sandra Leigh Almeida has been rescheduled to April 24, 2026, promoters have announced.

According to a press release issued by Esther’s Nest Sports Promotion, the bout, which was initially set for March 27 at the Scream Night Club, will now take place at the same venue but on the new date.

The organisers stated that the change follows ongoing stakeholder engagements and the need for additional coordination to enhance the overall quality of the event.

“The adjustment has been made following ongoing stakeholder engagement and the need to allow for additional coordination that will strengthen the event’s overall impact, participation, and delivery,” the statement read.

The promotion emphasised that the decision reflects its commitment to delivering a high-standard boxing event that meets expectations both inside and outside the ring.

Organisers also confirmed that all ticket holders will not be affected by the change, as previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date.

“Esther’s Nest Sports Promotion extends its sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this adjustment may cause. We remain committed to delivering an exceptional all-ladies fight night and a meaningful experience that reflects both the legacy of the fighters and the purpose behind this initiative,” the statement added.

The upcoming bout is expected to headline an all-female fight night aimed at promoting women’s boxing and celebrating female athletes in the sport.

Further details regarding the event are expected to be communicated in due course.
